COURSE DESCRIPTION:  

Recent advances in the field of cancer research led to diagnostic and therapeutic innovations, such as targeted therapies as a standard therapeutic approach for personalized cancer medicine. Over sixty percent of cancer patients receive radiation therapy as part of their cancer treatment. Doctors use radiation therapy to treat nearly every type of cancer. Please join us in this lecture for an overview about the role of radiation therapy as part of multimodality cancer care. Novel technologies used in radiotherapy delivery will be discussed.

TARGET AUDIENCE:

Internal Medicine Physicians, Physician Assistants, Residents, Advanced Practice Registered Nurses, Podiatrists, Pharmacists and all other interested healthcare providers.

  • Explain the role of radiation therapy as part of multimodality cancer care.
