COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This course provides an in-depth overview of chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy, focusing on the fundamental biological principles that drive its clinical application. Participants will explore T-cell engineering strategies, antigen targeting, and the mechanisms of immune-mediated cytotoxicity that underpin CAR-T cell function. The course will also examine the evolution of CAR-T therapy from early experimental platforms to currently FDA-approved treatments, as well as emerging next-generation technologies. In addition, learners will identify established clinical indications for CAR-T therapy in hematologic malignancies and review investigational and expanding applications in solid tumors, HIV, and autoimmune diseases.
