Compliance Training for SMH Covered Persons

This course meets 2017 compliance training requirements for South Miami Hospital covered persons and is required for all South Miami Hospital Medical Staff and vendors. Required date of completion was September 1, 2017 for initial compliance.

2018 Instructions: If you are a new vendor or are new to South Miami Hospital Medical Staff, please enroll and complete this course for initial compliance.

Vendors: Please download your certificate and submit directly to VendorMate. Certificate are available under My Activities upon completion of the course. If you completed the course in 2017 and VendorMate is indicating that you did not complete the course, please resubmit your certificate to VendorMate. This is a known error we are working to resolve.

NOTE TO ALL South Miami Hospital Medical Staff and Vendors: This course is an annual requirement, notifications will be sent to all those who completed the 2017 course when the 2018 course is available for enrollment.

  • Identify fraud, waste and abuse. 
  • Abide by the Stark Statute and Anti-kickback statutes and explain how the laws relate to them individually.   
  • Abide by the requirements of the Corporate Integrity Agreement and explain how it affects them. 
  • Utilize the new role of Hospital Compliance Officer to discuss compliance questions and address potential issues as they are identified.
