Conversations in Ethics – Ethics and Artificial Intelligence

June 24, 2020

Artificial intelligence (AI) is rapidly growing in healthcare, with the prospect of making the field safer and more efficient. AI will affect almost every area of healthcare in which machines can automate larger volumes of people. In a survey of physicians, 66% believed that AI would lead to faster and more accurate diagnosis (Anderson, 2019). There are, however, unforeseeable risks, such as false positives or negatives, system error, unexplainable results and amplifying biases or unethical behavior. Please join us for this very informative ethics series.
