COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Please join us for Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy: 2022 Overview: “New Frontiers for Management” with Craig Asher, M.D.  Dr. Asher will discuss basic concepts related to the definition, classification, structure, pathophysiology, natural history and prognosis of patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM).  

TARGET AUDIENCE:
Internal Medicine Physicians, Pharmacists, Physician Assistants, Residents, Advanced Practice Registered Nurses, and all other interested healthcare providers

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

• Discuss basic concepts related to the definition, classification, structure, pathophysiology, natural history and prognosis of patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM).  
• Explain the three pillars of management of patients with HCM: 1) treatment or prevention of symptoms, 2) family screening, and 3) assessment and prevention of sudden cardiac death.  
• Describe the risk factors and shared decision making utilized to stratify patients with HCM for sudden cardiac death.  
• Discuss the use, indications and outcomes of the new myosin inhibitors used for HCM. 
• Identify new frontiers for the care of patients with HCM.
